Island Development Planner

Island projects can fail on ordinary details that become difficult offshore: water, wastewater, power, freight, specialist access, spares, storm recovery and commissioning. Use this planner to expose those dependencies early and generate a staged Z² Island Development Roadmap.

1. Site & Environment

Is the site due-diligence picture complete enough to guide design?

For a Bahamas project, have you determined whether a Certificate of Environmental Clearance (CEC) is required?

2. Design

Are island-specific resilience and maintainability criteria written into the design brief?

Have long-lead equipment, service support and critical-spares needs been considered?

3. Infrastructure

Is there a quantified water supply, treatment and storage strategy?

Is wastewater capacity and long-term operation fully planned?

Are normal power, critical loads and backup/recovery arrangements defined?

Is communications redundancy adequate for the intended operation?

4. Construction

Is there a realistic island logistics and freight plan tied to the programme?

Have local labour capacity and off-island specialist requirements been mapped?

Are construction safety, emergency and severe-weather arrangements suited to the island location?

Are fuel, waste and material-handling arrangements workable for the location?

5. Commissioning & Opening

Is there an integrated commissioning, testing and operator-training plan?

Will operations receive complete handover information and critical spares?

6. Operations & Recovery

Is there a practical operating and hurricane-recovery plan?
